Board of Supervisors approve fee for service negotiations

Feb. 15th 2007

On February 12th at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting the Board approved unanimously (6-0) that the County Fire and Rescue Department can start negotiations with the firm EMS Management and Consultants from North Carolina. Within the negotiations we will be discussing the fee establishment, public awareness campaign; they will also provide training to explain the billing process and the information needed to be collected for a successful program. They also approved funding for the software and hardware of the paperless reporting system. Over the next couple months we will be obtaining the hardware and finalizing the software. Once that is accomplished we will then begin holding training sessions on the paperless reporting system. We will be doing a train the trainer session from Alpine Software on the Red Alert reporting program. We will then do the majority of the training sessions after that point. Thus far there has been no implementation date established. The majority of the training will probably be held after the first of April. That includes sessions with the computer documentation and the billing information that will be required. As soon as there are more details to advise the agencies about we will provide updates.
